Facebook bet between student and professor

I thought it was kind of amusing. This dude was having a discussion with his professor in a class. Apparently his professor thought people only joined facebook groups they cared about, like AIDS awareness, etc. So he bet his professor his final project that he could get 15,000 people to join a random group. His prof. agreed and 1 up'd him, by saying that he would buy him a keg if he got 100,000 people to join.
In like 3 days the guy has 13,000 plus members of his group, "My professor will buy me a keg if I get 99,999 members"
Some people might think that is a worth cause.

EDIT: I just created a DVXUser facebook group for the hell of it.

Facebook is this website, that people are in communities, from their various schools, and such. I think, they let anyone join now, but anyways, Folks from the theatre department I was in, had me check it out. I never used it hardly, but I have been bored lately. Got in touch with my best friend I went to high school with 10 years ago, through it though, so that was kinda cool.

That's pretty funny... I've never gotten into the whole facebook thing, though everyone keeps telling me to do it... I'll probably cave eventually.

Yeah, I resisted for a while, then finally joined up but never checked it. People seemed to think that it was an official form of communication to tell me about rehearsal and such. Uhmmm... send me an email, call me. Don't facebook me that I am supposed to be somewhere, duh. Anyways, I have been a little more involved lately. It's decent to keep up with folks that I am not seeing on a regular basis anymore. Put some pics of the wife and baby up and such...
