I have

Sennheiser 8060 (sounds same as 416)

Rycote 300 series dead cat with boom pole (coiled inside).

So here is my situation, Im about to film a doc in north pole, extreme windy situation

its about a native Inuit introduces his ice house etc

I hate anthing that shows on his cloth, so If Im using lav mic, then i will be using Rycote undercover and tape it underneath his wind jacket.

which sound better ? a boom pole with 8060 or lav ?

I also have a budget around 300 to get another LAV MIC (not trans/rece, just the mic), if its gonna save my audio.

I would definitely get another lav. Most folks don't think much of the ME2 except for a back-up.. that doesn't get used. Trams are pretty good in windy environments with the foam screen and positioned with the mic's grill facing the clip. Otherwise the Oscar SoundTech OST 801/802 (Tram replica) are attractively priced and sound very good as well. I would recommend the OST 801 which has a high frequency bump specifically for hiding under clothing. Carry some Rycote Overcovers as well which are good for wind and rubbing noise issues. The boom will likely sound better if it's close enough. Record both and pick the better in post.
