Extracting DVD footage for editing

I just got a DVD program from an Australian Broadcasting station. They said I could use an interview in the program for my docu and to just extract it from the DVD. I've never done this and wonder what is the best way to extract high quality video and audio from a DVD to use in Premiere Pro. What can I do to assure the highest quailty extraction?

Best Wishes

Try running it through your DVX Camera: DVD to DVX Analog input -> DV output (firewire) to Capture (or DV Deck)

otherwise - Post houses sometimes have a DV bridge that will do the job for you.

There's a free piece of Software called DVDx on the 'net - do a search for it, you should be able to rip DVD video and copy it straight as a DV codec.

But DON'T use it for DVD piracy!
