External sennheiser on DVX100a

Hey all,
After some paying jobs, I'm on a quest for some audio improvements, and after reading on here that the AG-MC100G external Panny mic isn't the best use of my money, I'm looking at picking up a Sennheiser ME64 or 66 instead.

I want to camera-mount the microphone to the clip, not the hotshoe, as I'll be using a light there. Planning on getting a Rycote softie for the mic too.

Is anyone out there using either one of these mics attached to their DVX? I'm concerned that with a softie, the mic might be visible in frame. Hopefully someone can confirm or deny this.

Any suggestions/recommendations?

Thanks,
Scott

how far past the matte box does the microphone go? if you could post a pic it would be greatly appreciated..

I have the ME66 and mounted it in the camera mic holder for one of my shots. I do not have the Rycote softie but would guess from the way the ME66 mounted in the holder that you would see the softie. I did not have any problems with the mic in the holder however and got great sound. I am guessing this is because I had the camera on a tripod and was doing a static shoot.

i used the me-66 in the mic holder with no problem.Never saw anything in the shots, just make sure to mount the mic as far back as you can in the holder.
