External S-Video or HDMI Recorders?

Hey Gang! I'm working in post for a magazine style video journalism site. I'm heading a new videogame content section and I need a way to capture footage from a PC Computer and PlayStation 3's S-Video or HDMI video out and audio out.

Right now what I'm doing is plugging my ancient Canon GL-2 into the PC's video out or the Console's out, putting the camera into VCR mode and essentially using it as a recording display/deck. Then capturing the footage off the tape afterwards.

Obviously this is ridiculous and what I would love is an external, non portable video recording device that will let me grab whatever is going from the PC to the monitor, or the console to the TV and save it to a DVD or hard drive. I've been doing searches and really have no idea what to look for. So far all I can find that kind of resembles what I need is a Ninja HDMI ProRes recorder, but that looks like its meant for field recording from a camera and then dumping it to a computer.

Can anyone help us?

You should consider a Hauppage HD PVR Gaming Edition since it is designed to do exactly what you want.
It needs to be tethered to a laptop but that's about it.
