EXTERNAL RAID HD QUESTION (didnt know where else to post this)

so i had some trouble importing my 30p footage from my dvx100b the other day, and i narrowed it down to the hard drive, im sure its the hard drive because it will import onto the internal Mac HD perfectly, but i think the disk isnt spinning fast enough or somehting, because when i plus my camera in to import, it only lets me capture for about 10 seconds before it runs into the dropped frames.

i have a Buffalo RAID 1,000 gig (mirrored to duel 500 gig) HD, and im thinking scince its not a preformance HD, that it just doesnt capture quick enough, because this works fine on my Lacie disk....which my dad tripped on and broke....anyways, do you guys think it would help if i got an 800 fire wire, and or if i took the mirror off, and made it just a plain old 1t drive?

I'd try a different drive- the only things that cause dropped frames are too slow a drive, not enough ram, anti-virus/net blocking software, etc.

it sounds like the raid isn't FW 800, soo just wondering what it is? If you are trying to capture over USB that could be your problem not if the drives are fast enough, if that is the case.
