External Monitor for AE

[Kirk Gillock]

In Adobe Premiere Pro you can view your output or preview on an external monitor. Is that feature available in AE? I can't seem to find it.

Thanks!

Re: External Monitor for AE

It is in AE 6.5 , I think under preferences.

Re: External Monitor for AE

I have AE 6.5, but there is nothing that says output to monitor or preview monitor in preferences. There was one thing that looked promising, Video Preview, but the only options were "Desktop Only" and "IEEE 1394" which would be my camera. Hmmmmm

Thanks anyway. I'll keep looking.

Re: External Monitor for AE

Yes go firewire out to your camera then S-video to your NTSC monitor.
The video passes through the camera to the monitor.
Cheers

Re: External Monitor for AE

PK- youre going to need a plugin like this one. I don't know if AE.6.5 has a tv-out setting. I've either never heard of it or maybe I'm just on crack. Check out this plugin though.

Thanks A LOT Taylor and Spider. I will try that. Not sure if I want to leave my camera on that long Why couldn't they make AE preview the same as PPro? Hmmmm
