external mic camera audio settings

When using an external microphone on the DVX are there any special audio settings I should set in the camera? Thanks.
 
Set menu to ext. mic, audio control on manual, and if your inputs have the option make sure it's "mic level" not line level. If you're using an XLR adapter, you have the option for mic or line level. But if your camera's menu settings are good, it should work.
