External hard drives

I'm going to buy an <a style='text-decoration: none; border-bottom: 3px double;' href="http://www.serverlogic3.com/lm/rtl3.asp?si=5&k=external%20hard%20drive" onmouseover="window.status='external hard drive'; return true;" onmouseout="window.status=''; return true;">external hard drive</a> to backup and store my video files. Any suggestions? I'll need something fast but i'd like to get off as cheap as I can. Any ideas what I should look for? Thanks in advance.

Not sure what all of that is, but I am thinking you are looking for an external hard drive. Check out newegg.com. I would personally go for an external enclosure with a good fan, and then a standard internal hard drive. This gives you the option to use different drives with different speeds and sizes.

I've bought from newegg and I found them to have good prices and are generally reputable. A cost-saving measure I used is to buy the enclosure the drive separately and then piece them together.
