Hi everyone,
does anyone know whether or not it's possible to use an external controller for audio mixing in the final cut pro? I'm thinking of something like m-audio's Ozone or other controllers that are used for DAW such as logic, cubase, etc.

As of now, there is no support for external mixing surfaces in Final Cut Pro. I agree that it would be an incredibly helpful feature as practical use of the audio mixer in FCP seems to be pretty limited without one. If anyone from apple is reading this ( ;D), at the very least it would be nice to have keyboard controllable faders in the next revision of the program...something simple like the up arrow for a single fader up and down for down, or maybe even different sets of keys to control more than one fader at a time. Just a thought that would come around a lot quicker than a control surface and save all of our wallets. Sorry I couldn't point you to something that would work...
I have seen a lot of editing suites that have Audio Mixers sitting right there on the desk. I believe www.promax.com sells a whole package computer, fcp, monitor, mixer, etc.
I am guessing that you can not actually mix the audio externally for something your working on internally. But I am wondering if your preparing to output to tape or something if you could mix the audio to your liking then.
I'd rather use a mixer for audio mixing than doing it in the computer.
