I'm sure we're all familiar with external USB battery packs to charge our phones and tablets... but has anyone seen the ones with an AC outlet?
They claim to deliver up to 85W of power... enough to supply power to a laptop charger or any other AC device (lamp, electric razor, etc)
My question is... is this sorta thing reliable enough to plug my camcorder AC adapter into it?
I have a JVC HM150 and I believe its AC adapter only draws 35W. But my question is if these battery packs deliver consistent power.
If they do... would it be a suitable replacement for dragging out an extension cord?
Sometimes I shoot on a tripod... so a big battery pack wouldn't bother me. But I'm wondering about power consistency and runtime.
These AC battery packs range from 12,000mAh to 27,000mAh while my camcorder batteries are only 3,000mAh. I'm sure there would be some loss going from DC (external battery) --> AC (camcorder adapter) --> DC (camera)... but the external batteries still hold plenty of juice.
Any thoughts?
