Exterior night scene lighting w/ projector...

Hey:

I'm going to be doing a video in a couple weeks and would like to simulate the similar effect in the Ludacris video below. I have a 4000 Lumen projector we tested against the location wall at night and would like to know which lighting setup would be ideal to acheive this look. I'm not so much concerned with the spot effect as I am w/ the key lighting. I'm assuming fluorescents is the way to go, just would like some more specific suggestions. I would like the subject to project a hard shadow on the wall over the clips playing while still being lit appropriately. Let me know if anyone has any input, thanks!

Yeah, I would say a fluorescent key and flag it off pretty good to avoid spill on the projected background. You'll probably find, given that most all those projectors use a metal halide bulb in the 6500K range, that the color temperature will tend to be very blue anyway--just like in that video so it may be appropriate to use a 5600K flo gelled up to 6500K or a regular 6500K bulb to match the blue.
