I am looking at gear to purchase from EXPRESSCAMERA.COM. Their prices are low low low. Too good to be true??

Anyone with experience with them or knows of an experience with them, good or bad, please log in.

Thanks. Uncle Jimmy

Re: Expresscamera.com??

I had a few conversations with those people and didn't get a good feeling from them. (If someone is about to spend $3000., you should give them the information they need to know without an attitude), I read some reviews and they seemed kind of sketchy. Although I spent $500. or so more and bought it at B&H, I know if I have a problem I can walk in there and yell at them. Where as expresscamera is tied to a warehouse somewhere in Brooklyn.

Re: Expresscamera.com??

These people are the absolute worst of all bait & switchers presently selling Panasonic gear on the internet at "lowest" prices. They advertise a price, "sell" it to you on the website, then send you an e-mail saying you have to call and confirm the order. When you call, you get a salesman who will NOT sell the camera only to you. They'll tell you that they don't have it in stock; they only have "kits" in stock, etc., whatever to get you to go away. If you want the camera, you have to buy a bunch of other stuff that isn't worth anything. We must have called five of these kinds of places (starting with expresscameras) before we finally got someone to send us a camera.

Basically, if you see a price below $3400 for a DVX-100a, you can expect this kind of illegal bait & switch activity.

Don't mean to be negative, but I hope this helps:(

I just ordered a Canon EOS 350 camera from Expresscameras.com. It was at least $200 cheaper than any other place. I got the email that I'd have to call them and they tried to sell me a lense -- no, a $100 memory card for $400 -- no, then a battery and charger for $270 -- yes.
Then I went online and found the canon battery and charger for under $100, called them back and told them i was cancelling the order the guy said Buddy it's already place you can't. I said I'll call my credit card company, so he said hold on and transfered me to another guy. This guy tried to add another battery, then an extended warranty for half price. I said all I want is the camera body he said ok.

I started thinking about it and decided to cancel the entire order, but got an email this morning that the body was out of stock. Called and cancelled with no arguments.

Stay away, far away from Expresscameras.com

below market rate advertised price is a hook to get you to call. the dealer is a con artist. nothing more, i promise. save yourself a lot of anger and frustration and go another route.

Sources like resellerratings.com will remind you why you should resist the temptation to deal with anyone who gives a deal that's too good to be true. This fine establishment (expresscameras.com) scores a 0.57 out of 10.
