Exporting with FCP / Compressor

I am shooting on a Canon XL2 w/ 24p and true 16:9 aspect ratio.

I want it to be so when I export the quicktime player is wide (like many I have seen on here) instead of having the letterbox bars.


How can this be done?

Yes, when you are setting up the H264 file go in and set the aspect ratio to 16:9.

Kinda depends what you mean by that- true 16:9 is 4:3 when you look at it native in the QuickTime player. If you want it to look 'widescreen' in the QT player export at 863x480.
