Exporting with alpha preserved

I am editing greenscreen footage I have shot in DVCpro 720 24p. When I export out of FCP compressor it does not preserve the alpha channel. I am using the latest update of FCO Ver. 5.1.4 I used a workaround method I found in this forum using the animation codec but found the quality unacceptable.

Is there a workaround in compressor or am I out of luck? Any real world experiences would be helpful. You can reply to this post or PM me.

To preserve the alpha channel- it's pretty much animation codec or an image sequence of PSD files.

Hey Noah can FCP export PSD files? We don't really go out to filim or anything of the like here so haven't had to use the exporting a sequence as stills kind stuff at all. Though I would imagine FCP would at least do TIFFs and PSDs are just fancier TIFFs really.

Framelines - what's the problem with the quality of the animation codec? To my understanding its an uncompressed codec, you're not really going to get a whole lot more data preserved by a different codec.
