Exporting Using Quicktime Conversion: Wrong Sequence Settings, Woe.

Hey all,

I'm new to this forum, and new to FCP Studio 2. I'm on deadline right now, trying to figure out what the hell is wrong when I export my project (6 minutes, shot on a Canon 7D, 1080p, 30fps) to Quicktime. I have a feeling I opened up Final Cut and edited with the wrong sequence settings to begin with--but now even when I tried to correct them and things look dandy in the viewer, they look wide and squashed when I export to Quicktime. (Ultimately, this is for Youtube). I'm exporting at 1920x1080p, current fps (so, 30), and I believe the sequence settings match that. What big thing am I overlooking? Please, tell me how I've been a total noob. I will be indebted to you forever.

Seriously, seriously in need of your help,

Ok first of all dont use quicktime conversion, it sucks.

Export your timeline as is and then use compressor to do the conversion for youtube.

Sheesh. Compressor does work a lot better than Quicktime Conversion. But I'm still running into issues now that I'm uploading to Youtube--I'm using the Quicktime 7 template with custom inputs: h.264 to process, current fps, 1920x1080p and a default pixel aspect ratio. Except the video looks squashed and wide again. What am I doing wrong?
