Basically all i really want to do is export my composition to premier pro, and before you ask i did read the "help" files. I have made my little sequence which is just an avi file with some txt and i just want ot export it to premier pro. I've saved the file and copied it in a million different ways but the paste option never appears in premier pro...

Thanks for any replies guys :)

Okay, to go back from AFX 7.0 to Premiere Pro 2.0 a simple copy and paste will not do.

1) Save the project in AFX

2) Go into premiere Pro, and import a file, like you would for a video clip

3) Select the AFX Project

4) A window will come up, select the composition that you want to import

5) Volia! It appears in the Bin as a video clip that you can scrub, and cut.

Good luck!

It came up with this -"No importer found that supports this file type"???

Its saving as a .aep file, and they are both version 7.0 if thats any help? :(

AE & Premiere

AE & Premiere

Hi everybody!!

I edit with Premiere and want to modify some parts of my Premiere Project into After Effects but have an hesitation: what do I have to to? Import the Premiere Project in AE and then render the whole project or import into the Premiere project the only parts I need modified with AE (as 32rider32 as just said)?

Thanks :-)

32rider32 was explaining how to export/render an avi file from an AE project to import into premiere. Your talking about going from premiere to AE, which can be done in many different ways.
For your case, if your working with a small section of your project that needs to be imported into AE, i would just export that small avi file to keep it simple. But if you need to color correct or something else to your hole project, then you can either export your hole project as an avi then bring it into AE, or import your premiere project file into AE. When importing a premeire project into AE, it retains all your video lines as layers, so you might have to use adjustment layers if you want the effects to effect the hole project, instead of applying effects to each individual layer.

Sorry Kuock

Sorry Kuock

I tought i knew what you were asking, but after re-reading your post, i'm a little confuse with your last statement.

Thank you very much Wes,

I think you've answered what I needed to know

Suppose you have edited a short in Premiere and you want to make a greenscreen with AE... Only two layers are involved in the process, one above the another and I guess there is not need to import all the short into AE...

What about the rendering? do I render with AE once the greenscreen has been made or on the contrary I render when the footage is back into Premiere?

I'm a new AE user and your help is greately apreciated

In the ouput module page, check audio output and it should be defaultd as PCM uncompressed. 44.1 and 16bit.

Remember any special mixing inside of premiere may be lost. I would advise you do mixing in another program, or export an audio file from premiere and put it in the render comp, then shut the audio switch off for all the other layers.

Good Luck,

It would probably be most simple if I said that, everything you make in AE needs to be rendered to some sort of video file (avi, mov, etc...) before importing it into an editing program. So when your done creating your compositions in AE, render it through the "add to render que" under the composition tape. (32rider32 discribe it in a post above, in more detailed).

hope this helps

OK, dumb question.....
Where is the output module page?
The same happens to me, import file with no sound...
Do i import file and then change o.m.p settings or before i import?
thanxs
Ogrus

Another doubt...
If i have a clip in premiere which i have applied various effects like CC and Luma Curve and want to export to AE, should i render that clip on its own and then import into AE or can i export it into directly AE and apply AE effects to finally s render the clip thing in AE?
Im trying to save time here not needing to render twice....
