Exporting to MPEG2

Hi Everybody. I am new to editing and had a question. How can you export MPEG2 video straight out of finalcut pro? We are using the newest version of Final Cut Studio with all of the updates.
We have been using the "export using Quicktime conversion" option but, have had severe problems with it pixelating. After we export it we burn it with toast.

I now put it in the hands of the DVX Gurus!!

Thank you for your time,

Use the "Export using Compressor" option. It will take your audio and video and dump into Compressor and here you can change all kinds of options tailor the footage to your liking. There are also presets for MPEG2 with diff lenghts and quality levels.

Yeah, use the compressor presets. Some older DVD players may choke on the highest bitrate setting (60 min setting) but I have only seen that once.

It is also best to encode your audio separately in A.Pack. I export a .wav from FCP using quicktime conversion and then encode it to an .AC3 in A.Pack at 224kbps. Most people use aiffs, but I find A.Pack runs better using .wavs. It may just be me though!
