Render. If it's DV, render as NTSC DV -- and if it's 24p, with 2:3 pulldown. Or, render uncompressed. From a 24p timeline, the uncompressed settings will automatically fit.
Or, if you want to work with the clip itself before you do anything to it in Vegas, just bring the captured clip into AE.
