exporting tiff sequence from FCP

as mentioned in my other post, we are trying to export an uncompressed HD of our P2 footage. we are attempting to export a tiff sequence now. well i was under the impression that 720p meant 1280x720, FCP says the footage is 960x720 and thats what i have to make my sequence at for it to play right. If i make my sequence 1280x270, then it plays within a black box. now the problem is that when i export my tiffs, they export in a square and stretch the image instead of 16x9. Please help as we have no idea what to do at this point. we pretty much just need the proper exporting workflow for HVX footage to a movie and to tiffs, which i cannot seem to find anywhere online. thanks!

I believe you have to export it at the lower resolution that it was actually shot at (960x720) and then choose the correct pixel ratio for your image sequence to be 1280x720 resolution. The pixel ratio is 1.33333333333333333333. Not sure off hand where the pixel ratio setting is in FCP.

well the weird thing is that when i go to export with quicktime conversion, and then click on image sequence and tiff, it gives me absolutely no options whatsoever! only something about what compression i want

This section might be too quiet to answer your questions. Try the Workflow in the HVX section as it's busier. It's not just an FCP problem. It's about the pixel shifting used to record HD to the P2.
