had some troubles with this so far. tried disabling the export as sequence button, and it opens up media encoder when i try to export bitmap and then nothing happens, just says quede or waiting and thats where it sits forever....what the heck is up with this?

I'm working with CS3 - I'm not familiar with the
Export as Sequence button.

I don't have it open in front of me, but normally
I just go File/Export/Frame (then chose the format and settings).

I hope this is helpful. I'll check Premiere tomorrow morning for
another solution. I may be suffering from 1 am brain fog.

Try this:

When you select Export, choose TIFF for a still pic. Once exported you can
change it to whatever you want.

On larger projects or when working with a lot of HD footage, Premiere can take a long time to process the project file before exporting (10-15 minutes).

When exporting a still, uncheck the "Export as Sequence" button and it won't go into Media Encoder, it'll just export as normal.
