Exporting QuickTime Movies

When I export my films to QuickTime I typically use the built in Sorenson 3 compression.

They look great, but I notice that they only start playing after the entire film has been downloaded.

How do I make it so that the film starts playing right away, while the rest of the film continues to download?

Thanks,

Chris

CMessineo I am not shure but I think that has to do more with what the persons QT player settings are set at. My setting is set at playing right away as it is downloading but, I can change that so my player dose not start playing till I've downloaded the whole thing. That is just a little insight I could be totaly wrong.

Thanks for the thoughts, but I don't think that is it.

When I download my own movie I have to wait for it to come all the way down before I can watch it, but when I watch other mov files (like the trailers on Apple.com) they always start right away. I think it has something to do with how the files are created.

I don't have Sorensen Squeeze but with Quicktime Pro or Compressor you can select "fast start" or something like that (I have the german version so I'm not sure what the option is called in english) when encoding. That does the job.
