Exporting NTSC DV footage to TIFF stills

I am interested in exporting (via Adobe Media Encoder) some DV footage to TIFF stills for work in Photoshop. I have limited background in post, and have never done this so excuse naivete. Should this footage be exported 30 frames progressive? Any other comments about workflow would be appreciated...such as "exporting" back as footage. Adobe's help files are very limited in scope

Don't know what you may be trying to do...
But some thoughts occur to me.

Export the image sequence, having 'interpreted' the footage with the correct (or any) odd/even field first settings, this should remove interlace artifacts. (Ok, not absolutely, but minimize them...), since in PS you will want to work on full frames at not just fields...

If you are wanting to do 'rotoscoping' in Photoshop, you could import the clip directly into CS4 PS.

If you were just wanting to work on 'one frame', then exporting a 'still' image from the clip would be better.
