Exporting .mts files

I have a potential client that wants to hire me as a freelance camera op. Lately I have solely been shooting with a Panasonic GH2 (sometimes hacked, sometimes stock) which produces mts/AVCHD files. The potential client wants me to send a sample clip to make sure her local editor can work with it. She only wants a 10 second clip from one of my previous projects but all of the clips I have are super long.

Aside from breaking out all of my lighting and audio gear and shooting a new 10 second test clip, how can I export a short version of my existing work for them to sample in a format as close as possible to the native mts file?

I am using the Adobe CS5.5 Master Collection.

Thanks for any help.

There's a tool called tsMuxeR which I seen on the net. I've not used it, but it purports to be able to cut and join MTS media on I-frame boundaries. Don't know much more about it, but it looks 'old' with a last version date of 2009...

I think there may be others as well, but that one seems to be the most prevalent when searching for 'mts edit no recompression'...

This free software for Mac is pretty easy to use. It will change your file from an MTS to a quicktime without transcoding. I can't remember, you may need to download some presets from the site. It can also transcode if you need it to.

There's also 5DtoRGB which is free for the non-batch version and works on PC or Mac and will transcode it to ProRes or DNxHD codec QT files.

A little bit of effort with your camera could score you a client.

Laziness could lose you the same one!

@Shooter -Exactly the point I came to. Except now I will be the one in front of the camera. Yikes.

Thanks for all of the help everyone.
