Exporting Help for DVD (FCP just crashes)

I've edited together a video that is just shy of 30 minutes long.

The footage was shot at 29.97 and imported at 29.97.

No matter how I try to export the video, it crashes. It crashes when I try exporting through compressor to mpeg2. When I export it to an avi, the avi itself is all messed up, when I export to a quicktime movie it crashes.

The video itself plays fine in the edit/sequence window. Occasionally I get a warning of dropped frames. It never happens in the same place though.

I really have no idea where to go on this one, the FCP user manual hasn't helped either.

I'm editing on a new intel based Mac Pro desktop with the latest available update of FCP.

I realize i'm not giving you guys a lot of info, but if you got any pointers/trouble shooting tips/ anything to point me in the right direction that'd be insanely helpful! Thanks in advance

How much RAM is in your machine, and are you editing from a secondary drive or your sysetem drive?

May want to get FCP Rescue 5 and use it to trash your FCP Prefs. Run Disk Utility on all drives. Reboot. Try again.

its not doing it with other projects on the same machine. I'm not sure how much ram is there, but its been plenty for the other projects which are larger than this one.
