Just cut up some 720/24pn footage and wanted to export for the web. What should my settings be. I tried it once and it does not look widescreen the image is squished. I attempted to go half 480x360.

thank you

I am having this problem as well.

I shot 720p/24 with my HVX200, captured it with both my Sequence and Capture Presets at DVCPRO HD - 720p24. The widescreen looks correct in my canvas window, but when I go to export using Quicktime Conversion, the footage looks squished. I've tried compression with both DVCPRO HD 720p60 and H.264

Any thoughts or answers?

I am having issues as well. Or maybe not. I export a quicktime file from FCP. Then I open that up in QT and I export for the web with H.264. It looks amazing on my computer, but I emailed it to some friends and they can only hear it no picture. So I also tried to upload it to stickypod and it wont play it's just a bunch of text. So any help would be great. Thanks.

h.264 only works with QT7 -- Bluehaven... you'll have to assume your friends don't have QT7 on their machines.

As for squished...

You must change the size in the size options. Remember, your footage is anamorphic, NOT widescreen.

Are you talking about adjusting the size settings in FCP or Quicktime?

I've tried adjusting it in FCP. I went to Sequence >> Settings, and clicked the anamorphic footage box. Then I dragged the clip into the timeline and exported, but it still looks squished in Quicktime. :(

Try this...

File - Export - QT Conversion...

Then set it to Quicktime Movie and below that it will say recent settings or default settings... change it to Broadband - High.

Then, click on the OPTIONS button and select Size... change it to a 16:9 ratio...

Sit back and wait for the encode.
