Exporting from iMovie

I have never been able to export a movie from any software in good quality. I dont know much about it.

This time I am using iMovie HD, pretty annoying but I have to.
What settings to I need to change in order to export in full HD?

From then, I will put in on a DVD.

I need to do it asap!

Try this:

Go to Share>Export using QuickTime.

Click on options>then click on size>in the dimensions tab click on HD 1920 x 1080>then tick the deinterlace check box and then click ok> next go to the settings button and open it> click on the 'data rate restrict to' and type in 6000 kbps> next go over to the bottom left and tick the "best quality (multipass) check box, then push ok> Finally make sure that the sound checkbox is ticked, click on the settings and select 'Linear PCM' as the audio format, then select ok. Then save the file and let it encode the file. See how that comes out. How long is the video by the way?
