Greetings fellow craftsmen,
I am posting in hopes someone can help answer associated work flow kinks.
I am editing a short film shot on the HVX - 200 (shot at 29.97 and at 1280 x 720), and editing on an Avid Express Pro pc. I have an assistant editor that will be importing my footage into After Effects for some additional composting, and he will be further editing the footage on Premiere Pro (also running on a pc). He will then output that specific sequence back to me whereas I will then place it in the timeline.
My question is this, does anyone know the best export settings and workflow scenario to get our project out of avid (which is able to use the mxf file system) and into the other NLE and back (which aren;t necessarily able to use our beloved p2 format); w/o losing image and or color quality.
Also, what do we do about the fact I have an external hard drive full of 200 gig's of mfx files. He should bring over his external hard drive and files will need to be transferred, but what files or rather type of files will his system need?
Our final output will be to DVD and is already booked to showcase a rapidly approaching festival.
