Exporting FCP sequence into after effects

I was wondering what the professional workflow is from FCP to After Effects. I am working with the latest versions of FInal Cut studio and CS5 and am currently trying to export my FC sequence into After Effects. I've seen posts on coding to assist the workflow but they seem extreme and time consuming. Does anyone recommended programs like "Automatic Duck" and "Boris Transfer" to make this task easier. Thanks in advance for any help... Much appreciated.

With CS4 or CS5 it's a piece of cake. Export XML 5 from FCP to premier. Open it in preimer save as premier pro project. Then in AE go to import premier pro project.

Thanks.... I just tried though, and all of the clips showed up but I basically had to rebuild my sequence all over again. Is this normal or did I do something wrong? Thanks in advance.

Contjus that's not normal.

No need for that script anymore J Davis. If I get some time I will post a tutorial.

We use Automatic Duck here and I love it. Such a time saver. Takes too much time to open up another application and save out and do that round robin. Nothing wrong with that approach, just takes too long. Automatic Duck is quick, easy, painless and I've never had a problem with it. It's especially great when you have text, etc in FCP.

It's definitely pricey, and I held out for a long time before ponying up the dough, but I've never looked back.

Also, Wes, the creator, is great and very supportive and quick to respond to questions.

Oneinfinite is right Automatic Duck is awesome but it cost money (place I work now doesn't have it) my workflow is free and I haven't had a problem with it. Also, it brings in text, opacity effects, pip, fades from FCP perfectly!
