Exporting Entire Feature

I'm having a heck of a time exporting my feature as a Quick Time for my composer. Can someone walk me through (in simple, clear, step by step language) the absolute best way to export a 2 hour feature so that it can be viewed by anybody as a Quick Time file. I've tried sorensen, photo jpeg, QT conversion etc., etc. Nothing seems to work properly.

I don't know how to use Compressor, but I do own it so if it requires Compressor, I'm all ears.

Thank you sooooo much!

so you just want something to work on your composer's pc or mac as a reference,
there are allot of ways to do that,
for example, you could:
file => export => quicktime => settings: custom => quicktime video settings part of the window, compressor: h.264

re compress all frames.
make movie self contained.

that should be a safe bet, it would be the same as your settings just changing to h.264,

also preset in compressor

apple => formats => quicktime => h.264

So do people generally edit their entire feature in one project and split up parts of the movie using new sequences? At the end I'm guessing you nest the sequences. I would think that this would slow down your machine a lot once you had a number of sequences that run times combined were an hour and a half.

When working on longer projects I would do each part as a separate project, then export at really high settings. Once I had all my "parts" I would drop them all into a dvd encoder and burn them that way.

Should Macs do fine with editing an entire feature in one project (but using multiple sequences for every 20 minutes or so)?

I think it depends on your computer and your ram. Exporting Sections into quick times and just having a handful of quicktimes on a sequence is probably going to be easier on most computers than 10000 edits referencing 100 captured clips and rendered cips.
