Exporting as PhotoJPEG in Vegas

Drew Ott

Wish I were banned.
I just downloaded Quicktime Pro 7 so that I can export as quicktime file types in Vegas. I'm looking to export as PhotoJPEG in Vegas so that I can upload my clips to www.revostock.com. Not really sure how to do this process.

Also, on a similar note, I tried exporting to H.264 within Vegas, since I just got Quicktime Pro, and it stopped after 1% saying there was a codec issue. I put my registration code and made my quicktime 7 quicktime pro. Is there something I need to do in Vegas to let it use the new codecs?

Thanks,
Drew

The only thing you can do is sue Apple for making their codec unusable outside of QuickTime.

It used to work. Then they noticed, so they "fixed" it.

While there are issues with encoding using H.264 in QT Pro and Vegas, I just exported a clip from Vegas to PhotoJPEG with no problems what-so-ever. All I did was set the Render As options to Quicktime 7, then went custom and selected PhotoJPEG as the codec. Set the quality to 75.4% and let it render.

So, I know that PhotoJPEG at least works.

On my "Render As" option, it says Quicktime 6. That might be an issue...

I'm really mad that you can't render straight as H.264. That's terrible. If I want my file to be H.264, then I must render twice? Once as .mov so I can get it into Quicktime, then again?

Not to mention rendering as .mov is having a codec issue in Vegas...
