Hi Guys.

Help please. I'm tired of leaving a project for a few weeks, moving folders and then when re opening premiere cant find the files. Please can someone explain how I go about exporting out a project to a new folder so the folder has the working files, the premiere project, etc all arranged? I know cubase allows you to do this 'export project to new file', but I cant find any info online..

cheers

Don't have the software in front of me, but there is a way to do this. I just did it to send a project to my color correction guy. Google SHOULD find this for you.

cheers man.

got it. No google result which I am amazed by. you go to >project, project manager, collect files and copy to new location, exclude unused clips, click browse to create your new project destination folder, click OK. it then exports out all of the used clips and files. and your project itself into one clean and tidy folder.

I'd have expected it to be simpler:- file, export, export project to new folder. Or something like that anyway!

Why would you move the files and folders!.

Editing digital media is about being organised and having workflows that the application expects.

I disagree with using hd's larger than 120gb. Meaning I have less chance of losing huge amounts of work in one go when a 1tb or larger HD dies. This means often when I have up to 5-6 productions on at one time I don't have to dig through 4-5 external hd's to find the source files. Exporting out an entire project and its tray clips and files means I can stick it all in one folder and not worry about having to spend 20 mins sifting through endless folders when the client comes back 2 weeks later with their feedback.

I'm an artist, not a pen pusher with skills in filing and office sludge. If I could go through my life never touching a computer I would. I prefer the camera to the editing and logistical stuff, but as a one man band I have to do my own editing. I am disorganised to say the least
