exporting 720p for web

I have a sample reel shot in 1080p and 720p Id like to export it for the best quality to embed on my website. What would the best export settings be to make it so its pretty universal for crappy monitors/computers and good monitors/computers. Id like to keep it at quicktime.

For Quicktime files, h.264 seems to be an excellent codec. On the other hand,
for maximum compatibility, Flash is installed on most computers.
Fortunately, Flash 9 supports h.264, so that will probably become
the new standard.

You may want to reduce the size and framerate of the clip. Keeping the dimensions
to multiples of 8 helps codec efficiency. For 16:9, I've been using 600x336.
I also reduce the frame rate from 30 to 20 or from 24 to 16. It seems like it's
better to use your bandwidth for good image quality rather than for perfect motion,
and reducing the framerate by an even ratio seems to make a better compromise
for the motion.

Before you export from FCP, be sure to crush the blacks, because
noise looks even worse when the datarate is reduced.
