Exporting 5dII footage with same quality.

Here is what I need to do. I am cleaning up some clips and setting some white balance which is all 5dii footage. Someone else is editing it in CS5 (Im also in CS5). How should I be rendering my footage?

I selected match original at first and got a file that contained no audio and all black. Now I just selected h.264 1080p/23.9

You guys are going about this backwards. Have the other person do all the editing first. Once the edit is finished and locked down, have the other editor give you the project file along with all appropriate assets. Open that project on your system, and then do your CC work.

I have had success exporting with Quicktime using the h264 codec at 100% quality and 'Render at Maximum Depth' checked.

I actually did this to convert GH13 footage for editing with 5DmkII and T2i footage in FCP, but it's the same concept. Good quality footage that'll cut fine in PP regardless.

I agree that this is backwards but it is a unique situation. We shot the footage over two days. The company is buying CS5 "lite" (not sure what it is called) and is going to learn to edit on this project. I am trying to be nice and clean up the footage some so it wont be so overwelming.

In that case, clean up your footage and then give YOUR project file and YOUR assets to the other guy. No need to render anything out.

Not sure what you mean by CS5 Lite. There's no such thing.

If they are going to be learning to edit on this project, I'd suggest using best practices from day 1; it will make future editing much easier and faster. On that note, as others have said you're doing it backwards and continuing this way will just lead to bad habits.

Take it from a colorist. (Avid Symphony)

Like everyone says.
1) edit
2) lock picture
3) step in and color grade.

Otherwise you'll be color grading stuff that won't be in the cut. Massive waste of time.
