Exported footage super flicker

When I export my footage from premiere in a 23.97 timeline and play it in WMP, it seems to flicker between aspect ratios every-other frame. What's going on?

I had this problem also. When i played the exported clip back on wmp. Then I played it on Real Player and it didn't do this. Still can't figure it out...dvxwheelr

Yup, seen this too with 24p 16x9 exports from Premiere and Windows Media Player. Can't handle the flags or something. (Trying to remember if there was a correlation between this problem and the Canopus codec... or if it's just an MS-DV avi thing). Exports as WMV, Mpeg4, or whatever are okay.

Right, should be no problem. It's a limitation of Windows Media Player, which has nothing to do with editing or DVD creation.

I haven't put the clip on dvd yet. It still sits on my hardrive. I have made dvds from Pro though....dvxwheelr

WMP doesn't handle 24p

Here is a link to a free player that's called Quicktime Alternative. It plays Quicktime and will show QT in full screen mode without having to purchase QT Pro. It Also plays back DV AVI exported from PPro without the flickering you describe.

You have the option of adjusting aspect ratio, zooming, window or fullscreen playback. Pretty neat for previewing your 24p edits or standard 60i.
