Export Widescreen DVD (Encore)

I am exporting quicktime in 720x480 format from AVID. Basically following this guide
http://www.geniusdv.com/weblog/archives/how_to_export_from_avid_to_create_a_dvd.php

But once I import it in Adobe Encore 2.0, it displays it fullscreen (squished) on 4:3 TV Screens. Though it does display in widescreen aspect ratio on LCD TV.

I would like to have black bars at the top and bottom for 4:3 TV.

Please guide. Thanks

Right-Click your media asset file in the project bin and select "Interpret Footage"

You'll need to make sure it sees it as a 1.2 DV WIDESCREEN Aspect ratio to unsqueeze it.

Yes, and make sure your timeline is 16x9. This will ensure 16x9 DVD with flagging.

Thanks the suggestions were helpful. Now I can see the black bars at the top and bottom on 4:3 displays.
