export using quicktime movie

i have just finished a small animation in hdv.

in fcp canvas the video plays really nice. i export using quicktime movie and recompress all frames and make self-contained in current setting...

as far as i have understood this is the option to chose if you dont want any compression and export in full quality...

but when i look at the movie in quicktime the edges on the moving object in my animation gets saw-edges...

my qicktime-preferences is also set to play in full quality...

am i doing something wrong when export?
any solutions?

thanks

Well, you ARE recompressing it if you chose the RECOMPRESS option. Don't do that. Leave that UNCHECKED...then you aren't recompressing, but simply transfering the footage from all the separate clips you captured into one single file.

i unchecked the recompress-option. didnt help at all... same problem...

what i dont understand bigbossbmb, is that my computer monitor can handle the quality in fcp, but once it is exported, it cant...
hmm, seem to me that this cant be the problem...

or is it something i am missing about the videosignal when it is exported?

Are you using interlaced or progressive HDV? I'm assuming interlaced 'cause the "saw-tooth" edges sounds like interlacing artifacts. The canvas in FCP only shows you one field (unless you resize it to 100%) so that's probably why you aren't seeing the problem inside FCP, but you do when you view the QT and see both fields.

thanks for that.
yes. true. i see the interlacing at 100% in fcp too... argh!

hmmm... well i did the shoot in 25F, but i can see from my sequence setting that the sequence is a 50i...
i forgot to change that, so i guess the shot was converted to 50i?
i hope it doesnt mean that my little animation is useless?
maybe i can try to use the de-interlacefilter? do you think that will repair it?

or any other suggestions to get rid of the saw-tooth...

thanks
