Export to Pro Tools

Hey all.

I'm having a difficult time trying to get my sound mixer the best possible video for a final mix.

I'm exporting through PP CS4. So far we have tried the same settings i use to export to youtube and vimeo, through H.264 > mp4 and pro tools doesn't seem to like that video file.

He told me to export as DVCpro, but there is only that choice when i choose:

1. Format > P2 Movie
then i can choose
2. Preset NTSC DVCpro50 widescreen 24p

Now exporting this creates an entire folder instead of a simple video file and I don't have any choice over quality to shrink this 22 minute film into a file size that I can upload online.

Would really appreciate any help from anyone who has experience with Pro Tools.

Thank you!

I usually just sent a h.264 mov file, encoded from QT Pro from an uncompressed AVI file and that works just fine for ProTool.

Don't forget that Pro Tools users can accept OMF files as well. It's like giving them an EDL and all the sounds will be lined up.

I would still export a single Quicktime file. Most ProTools guys request DV since it poses the least amount of problems.

QT Sorenson 3 does well also.
