i just need to compress a 13 min timeline down to a small file to email a client. it is 1920x1080 but i just need a tiny video with a low bitrate but it is taking hours to compress it. It's 25 minutes in to the export and it says there is still 3 hours left. blue ray export was quick but the audio wasn't linked to the video and the file size was way to big. i' just need a quick export and no bigger than 50mb, why is it taking forever?

You didn't give any information about your system spec, what type of file it is that you're working with, whether there's any effect on the timeline and what type of file you're trying to render it out. Any on of these factor can greatly affect the speed of the render.

Paunch I agree with Huy Vu A person needs more info , But what I can tell you that has happend to me time after time , the customer wants a 13min clip for email use . Many case the up load from a email to a email is no problem but the down load is and the message get bounced back as it excesses the persons allowed down load size file.I tend to break the programs into sections and email that, useing WMV.

Have you considered using CS Review? It was made specifically for easier client review. There are presets for HD and SD material. And you never have to worry about the final file size being too big, as the upload is hosted on Adobe servers. All your client need do is go to the Acrobat web site in his browser and viola, he can review the project, even make notes which then show up in your timeline at the exact spot in the video where the client made the note.
