Hey there I am editing a video in fcp on a apple prores 422 1920 by 1080 30p timeline and i have shot a time lapse on my 5d and i need to know the best export setting out of quicktime pro 7 so that i can edit in the fcp with out losing any quality?

I would bring the image sequence into some software that can handle it natively (After Effects can open up an image sequence) And then just render out to your settings that you're using in Final Cut Pro

So in your case it sounds like Apple Quicktime, ProRes422 1920x1080 @ 30fps.

Go straight to FCP, Log & Transfer, use the latest update Canon just released for their plugin, it doesn't need anything but the H.264 files. Ingest as ProRes LT.

You can edit H.264 in FCP (or any other NLE), but Long-GOP has its universal issues.

Just to be clear, it is a photo jpeg time lapse you are trying to convert in a video file? Depending on what format your other footage (if any) is in, you would want to match that. Otherwise I keep mine a full or half resolution ProRes 422 at 24 or 30fps, that way I can crop the images for pan and zooms without loss of resolution.
