Hello!

I have some HD footage that I'm trying to convert to SD using Final Cut Pro. I tried batch exporting the footage which works if I'm keeping the files HD, however everytime I export to SD, the export is incredibly fast and then when I open the quicktimes, they show the duration of the shot however the whole thing is one still frame from the shot.... anybody know how to fix this?

My HD footage was 720p 23.98fps.

The setting that I had the batch export on was "quicktime custom" h.264 compression (also tried no compression), size 720x480 16:9.

Thanks so much in advance!

I would take your HD files and drop them into a 720x480 SD timeline. Then do you exporting from there. When you bring the files in it will auto fit them with letter box so you won't need to do 16:9 I think unless you do anamorphic.

Are you trying to export to tape eventually? Why not make a FCP Quicktime and just choose the DV/DVCPro codec? I'm not sure why you need to introduce H.264 into it, and uncompressed will just eat your processor and hard drive for lunch.

Which version of FCP are you using?
