export from motion to FCP

Is there any quality loss if I export a quick time file out of motion and import it into FCP. say I am not going to make any changes to it.
Will it be re compressed or does FC recognize it is already done. Is it better to just import the motion file itself?

What type of QT file is best for a project that is SD and bound for DVD?
