export FCP audio EDL (over 8 tracks)

theres probably an easy answer to this -

how do you get around the 8 track limit when exporting audio EDL's?

I have 12 tracks and am only given the choice of exporting 8 of them. also, within those 8, i can only choose A1-A4.

Well where do you want to use the exported audio? EDL's are designed for video, not audio. OMF is what you use for the audio portion. Most audio editing programs import OMF.

the sound guys want a change list from the EDL's. eventually they'll get the OMFs but they want an EDL for now..
 
Seriously? Well they're not going to see it in the EDL- that's not what it's for. Might want to take a visit over there and make sure they know what they're doing.
