Hey guys. I've been working on shattering things in maya and 3ds max and came across 2 great free scripts. Just thought I'd share.

One is called fracture voroni. It breaks a mesh into pieces. real easy to use.

The other is called kaboom. You can plant a bomb where you want it and choose the area it will explode. It works with MassFx. Really cool script....

I'm more of a maya guy so I baked out the simulation to Maya. Here's a test I did if you want to check it out...

That would be great. I'm a little disappointed with maya's dynamics. It seems a lot of people are switching to houdini or xsi. I've been looking into both but getting fume fx will be a step in the right direction.

I've heard people talk about it. Is it worth it? I just have so much cash to spend. I'm writing, producing, directing a live action sci fi this summer and I still want to get Vue for overhead flybys and some other gear. Have you used it?

I used an early version for a job a couple of years ago. The latest has more features now it seems.

Probably your money is best spent going towards getting Vue and your other gear rather than Blastcode at the moment imo.
If your scripts work alright then maybe stay with them. You could always add a fine particle pass and dust pass as well. Should be fine.
