Experience with student loans??

I'm an experienced videographer that recently lost access to the 3-chip cameras on campus (pd150) and I'm seriously considering purchasing a dvx100b with a student loan... this is my last semester and I have a pretty good down payment/no debt from school! Any words from the vets or past students who have used loans to buy equipment... guidance
 
lol I've been getting the shaft with student loans. Books always seem to cost just about as much as they give me. I think if you've got the extra cash, it'd be a good purchase as long as you're serious about doing something with it.

my last year ( 1982.. $2200) i bought a optical printer with student loan ... you don't tell them you're buying equipment ...
 
I was a student finance representative for 2 years. Your best bet is to check out the sallie mae website. You can borrow up to $40,000, to use for "school" expenses. The check is sent straight to your house, and you get it in about 2 weeks. Go for it, I did.
