So Ridley Scott is directing this biblical epic with Christian Bale playing Moses.

I created a snapshot of what we should expect.

The film also stars Sigourney Weaver and Aaron Paul (the meth making partner from Breaking Bad).

As Ridley Scott is my favorite director, I'm going to have to see this. We can only hope that Mr. Bale uses the growly voice when speaking to Pharaoh

I was a huge fan, until I saw Prometheus! Prometheus put me off going to the cinema, I was so disappointed! I've only seen one film since at the cinema, which was Skyfall. I hope he doesn't make a sequel to Blade runner now.

Is this a storyboard from the scene were Moses kills the Egyptian Slave Master?

I thought Projetheus was just utter crap because of the countless plotholes, however it made 400 mill at the box office so it's a Hollywood success.

There's a few genres I just don't like. Bibilical is one, and another one is anything set in the Civil War. Just bores me, so I"m probably not going to be very interested in Exodus.

Unless they did something like the Bibilical scenes in Clockwork Orange.

I've thought a number of times about writing a 'biblical' based script. Just not from the point of view of a 'believer'. Due to the beliefs of many, these stories can only be told in 'in one way', least 'heresy/false teaching' or the like enter in.

We have seen several recent adaptions of 'greek myths', as well as a modern 'youth novel' series adaptations with themes of these myths. I could see similar films based on biblical stories... were it not for the aforementioned 'requirements of the telling'. (In the case of the Percy Jackson series, because there are a number of variants on the classical myths, the author was free to pick and choose, or even invent new 'histories'... there would be protests with lamentations, sack cloth, and ashes, were that to be done with biblical stories.)

For example, my telling of the story of Jezebel would be far more sympathetic to Jezebel than the 'prophets'...

Looking forward to see Aaron Paul work '*****' and 'yo' into his role this time..."Yo Moses...where's your messiah now *****?". Ben-Hur is still my favorite biblical epic, although I will say if you haven't seen it in 70mm at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood, you ain't seen it.

It's funny that you mention Blade Runner and Skyfall in the same post.

The scene with Bond and the assassin in the high rise across from the giant jellyfish animation playing across the side of the facing building, sort of gives me a Blade Runner vibe.

A rough and gruff private detective look to Bond, as well as blue and green neon-like light reflecting in layers of glass.

I saw this trailer in the theater, and while the film looks promising, I was completely appalled by the visual quality of the trailer itself, like someone over sharpened a DVD. I don't know who fell asleep at the quality control switch but for a high profile film like this to look so bad is shameful. You can see it here if you watch the HD version but in the theater it looked ten times worse.

Saw this on Sunday in 3D. It was a far cry from the "source material" (I'm trying to behave here), but visually, I thought it was stunning, and as a movie, taking the source material out of the equation, I thought it was pretty good.

Would have been an amazing opportunity to bring in some historical truth - like it was not the RedSea, but the "reed waters" (ijam suf).

Actually, that was one thing they did get right. There is a small land bridge in the Gulf of Acaba (which is the Red Sea) where remains of the Egyptian chariots have been found. The Reed Sea thing is a myth. Jebel Musa is not the real Sinai, it's Jebel el Lawz (which would make sense given the name) and is located on the other side of the Gulf of Acaba.
