Excessively strict "bump" policy.

Let's be blunt, "no bumps of any kind for any reason ever because jumping the line is unfair" is a bad idea.

It kinda makes sense if you WTB/WTS something common and/or in high demand.

But if you're not...posts roll off the first few pages pretty quickly even for the small minority who can check the forums constantly. Maybe there's a guy out there who wants whatever odd specialty lens I'm selling and would pay the price I'm asking but has, you know, a job. Why do I have to lower my price to give him a second chance to notice my listing?

Some sites limit you to just X bumps (usually just 1) or one bump every X period of time (FM is 12 hours, I'll admit that might be a little too short). The latter is better, but I'll take what I can get.

Fred Miranda even has a "Bump" button so you don't have to clutter the place up with nonsense posts.

I think if I was looking for some rare lens I'd do a search. The bumps got crazy around here before they were stopped.

The only thing worse than a bump post is an inane "yeah I agree" kind of post with nothing to really add to the conversatio...oh damn.
