I am selling a mint condition Canon Optura 40 miniDV/still camera kit with $500 of extras included. It has been my "B" backup camera, but I bought it 11 months ago and have used it for less than 5 hours so don't need it. This would be an excellent camera for starting out in DV filmmaking since it includes some pro features.
Canon's web-site has the complete specs here:
http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/controller?act=ModelDetailAct&fcategoryid=166&modelid=10078
or use the link on my photo page.
You can see my photo page of the camera, hard shell custom form fit case and extras here:

It is a great camera with some unusual features not found on sub $1000 cameras:
(1) True 16:9 Widescreen image capture (unlike many camcorders, including pro models, you don't lose resolution shooting in 16:9 mode)
(2) Correct 16:9 Widescreen display on LCD (see pictures)
(3) Manual focus ring
(4) Manual audio levels
(5) Manual exposure control
(6) Full 2 Megapixel digital still camera mode
It includes all the original parts including paperwork and original box, packing materials PLUS this exhaustive list of extras:
(1) Hard-shell case with custom foam inserts (complete with Green Shark Logo
(2) .05x Wide Angle Lens Adaptor with protective case(3) UV Filter, Circular Polarizer (for making skies blue and getting rid of reflections) with two step-up rings
(4) Two Extra-long life Canon batteries
(5) Extra charger (so you can charge batteries while shooting with AC adaptor)
(6) Car DC power adaptor
(7) Digital Head Cleaning Cassette
(8) 256 MB SD Card (for still camera function)
(9) Sennheiser Fold-up Headphones (for high quality audio monitoring)
(10) Hoodman LCD Cover (for viewing the LCD outdoors)
$750. I have sold cameras here and dvinfo.net if you need references.
