Excellent bag recommendations for Tascam HDP2 w/SD302 in front

I have been using the HDP2 for a few years with the Portabrace ARHDP2 bag. I've got a SD302 infront of it and it is sitting in the Portabrace RM-Multi that came as a freebie B&H special a few years back. If anyone is familiar with this setup, you'll likely understand that it is frustratingly cumbersome, with no real workable access to the top of the Tascam for reviewing & logging takes. (the velcro pouch has to be zippered up due to the weight of the 302 infront of it).

What I'm looking for is a bag that will hold the Tascam HDP2, the SD302 quite well with lots of room to access the top of the Tascam to review and edit takes and other system specs that need modification. I'm leaning toward the Petrol PS601 but I have never seen it up close.

If anyone is using the same configuration as me, I would like to hear what you are using as a gear bag, as well as anyone else who has any suggestions.

Thanks,

Steve

Petrol. I have a similar setup, 302 + 680 and the Petrol options are very good. The bags have changed a bit, mine is slightly older, but I think the medium size is about right. You will want a harness also, I have a versaflex which is excellent.

The bag models have changed a bit since my purchase, but this is pretty close. What I like is the adjustable dividers, and the front pouch is big enough you can carry a power pack, headphones, and some extra cables all at the same time. Looks like the new one has stackable wireless pouches. I don't care much for the hokey clear top cover, but you won't use it unless you're out in the rain.

So you think the ps602 would be a better bet than the 601? I've looked at the specs and the 602 does have more space....hmmm.

Maybe I should take a drive down to Trew and test them both out with my gear to be sure. Would hate to order then have to return.

Thanks Grant,

I sometimes use a 302 with the HD-P2 in an older Petrol bag the PEGZ-1. The HD-p2 goes in the front of the main section. In this particular style bag the sides of the front section are not open for cables so it is a tight fit for the HD-P2 and it is necessary to use right angle connectors. But once you have it all set up it works fine.

Thanks Belker,

It looks like it will be the ps601 or 602. I'll take my gear in & try out the bags. I did look for the older style PEGZ1 but they are hard to find.
