Examples of well-made/polished Family videos?

Sorry, couldn't find a more appropriate sub-forum to post this in.

There is no lack of good examples for polished travel videos / music videos etc, but how about polished Family videos with kids? Most of the youtube channels I checked out have high viewership but with amateur content. For myself, I am looking for new ideas to film/document family videos, and will be grateful if yall could point me to some of these great examples I can look up to.

Thanks!

I too found this topic "Family video" is hard to film/edit for me.
That's why until now I always reject client quote on this kind of shooting (like family celebration or birthday etc.) :(

Would like too see if anyone can link some nice films here :P

I shot this eight years ago, and even though I found many things I dislike about it now (hopefully I'd be able to do a much better job now), I still liked watching it again: those are my friends and family, and the video does capture the feel of that day. If anything, I'd say this kind of video should be easier than other things, since it doesn't need to be spectacular in order to elicit a nice emotional response from the intended audience (i.e. you may probably hate it, but they'll love it).

Are you looking for real life or fiction? I think it must be hard to get a polished look without it actually being fiction, like an advert or so. Doing a polished doc setup, must take months or prep and easing into the family to get that natural feel, but adding the style and specific camera work. Lots of high travel adverts have nice family themes, as well has Ikea adverts.

I'm also completely in love with P&Gs "Mom" adverts (always end up sobbing at the end xD). So well put together. And then this one insurrance advert and the Arcade Fire "Afterlife"

If I wanted to do a docu style film about a specific family, I would want to reach the kind of relationship with family that I could film them without them thinking about it, while they ride the bus or are out shopping. You know, desensitise them to the camera. But it would be hard work.

This also looks nice

Well, it's not exactly what you're asking about (no kids), but it might be at least tangentially relevant...

This is a documentary I shot and edited over the summer for my grandmother's 90th birthday, which my family celebrated a few weeks ago (the film screened at her party). It was a fun side project for me, and a gift for our whole family.

Shot over two days; one for the formal/sit-down interview, one for b-roll and exterior dialogue scenes.

Camera was the Sony FS7 with the Canon 24-105/Speed Booster combo. Edited in Premiere, 'graded' with FilmConvert.
